EOS/ESD Association, Inc. White Paper - For the Comparison of Field Meters, Electrostatic Non-Contact, and Contact Voltmeters and Their Manufacturers: Final Report

Research Question: “How do different types of electrostatic meters vary in their operating principles, limitations, and environmental dependencies across various use cases?”

This white paper is a comprehensive report on the work completed for the IgniteU Fellowship project in collaboration with EOS/ESD Association, Inc. It includes details on both the electrostatic project and the design thinking aspect of the IgniteU Fellowship program.

The main objective of this project is to benchmark electrostatic field and potential meters and compare their performance. This becomes pronounced for accuracy and reliability at lower field values and potentials, especially in chip circuits. It is equally important for high-field measurements, given safety and reliability considerations.
