  • The WG focused on the review and adjudication of the TAS comments for ESD TR25.0-02 “Charged Board Event (CBE) Characterization Methods for Electronic Assemblies”. Changes will be made and sent to the writing team for another review before the document is sent to TAS for review.

  • The WG focused on the review and adjudication of the TAS comments for WIP TR25.0-02 “Charged Board Event (CBE) Characterization Methods for Electronic Assemblies” document.  Most comments were addressed however others will need to be addressed in an upcoming conference call or at a face-to-face meeting.

  • The working group discussed challenges with medical devices that may experience charged board events. Additional data will be collected to share with the working group during the June meeting series.

    The working group reviewed the status of a new CBE test method technical report. The document has been updated based on comments collected from WG members. The document will be distributed between meeting series for another round of WG review including a new Summary section.

    The committee reviewed a proposal for a new charged board event standard practice. A workstatement will be submitted to TAS for review.

    The committee discussed the creation of a new standard practice document on charged board event.

    The committee reviewed the proposed slides for a new tutorial being presented at the 2017 EOS/ESD Symposium.

  • Summary of meeting activities:

    The working group reviewed the history of the new technical report, ESD TR25.0-01-16 that was published in 2016. A new tutorial proposal for the 2017 EOS/ESD Symposium was discussed. Concerns were raised by guests regarding the lack of usability of the method for factory level tests and other related items that may be outside of the scope of the WG. Further discussions will be held at the next meeting.

    The committee discussed a proposal to create a tutorial for presentation at next year’s Symposium. ESD TR25.0-01-16 was published in August 2016.

    The working group discussed the next main activities the committee would like to focus on. The group also discussed the possibility of preparing CBE training material and a tutorial package.

    The committee reviewed additional TAS comments on ESD TR25.0-01 and the document will be submitted for a final publication review. New project proposals were solicited and will be submitted by July2016.
