ESD Association Technical Report for ESD Electronic Design Automation Checks
This document describes an ESD EDA verification flow meeting the following requirements:
An ideal ESD verification tool or flow should:
- Provide broad check coverage, allow components’ verification along the design's progress, and include ESD checks at all IC design phases to avoid changes of circuit blocks (to ensure ESD compliance) at the latest stages of the design.
- Limit the required manual checks to a minimum.
- Be transparent and seamlessly integrate into the adopted design flow and design rule-checking environment.
- Be run directly by IC designers.
- Provide clear and informative descriptions of violations without reporting false positive violations.
All electronic documents must be delivered directly to the intended person for use on only one computer. The document may not be forwarded to any additional users or accessed on multiple computers. Electronic documents will be emailed within 48 business hours.
