ESD Association Technical Report for Electrostatic Attraction

This document provides an explanation of the mechanism of electrostatic attraction (ESA). It will also provide measurement techniques to assess ESA levels and risk and then mitigate ESA for medical device/life science, aerospace/defense, fiber optics, semiconductor, and other general manufacturing industries. Electrostatic charge and the subsequent fields can adversely affect products and processes if not controlled. An attempt is made to document the various industries where electrostatic attraction has a negative effect and how electrostatic attraction is controlled to provide tools to understand and solve ESA problems.
