There was a discussion to align the direction of SP27.1. Due to bandwidth constraints, the current revision will be reaffirmed. Work on drafting a revision of SP27.1 began to better harmonize with the VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) equivalent, intending to simplify it to two levels.
Plans were made to reach out to the ESDA Automotive Committee to engage with the industry, particularly USCAR (United States Council for Automotive Research), for re-engagement on the direction and approval of SP27.1. There was a consideration to remove them from the document if necessary. The status of ESD TR27.-01 was discussed. Support was requested to complete the document.
-
The WG discussed the future of ANSI/ESD SP27.1 since the 5-year review is coming up. Alignment with USCAR is needed, but additional resources are required. The status of the FTA document was presented in a TR format. There was a discussion on whether there was a need for a similar non-automotive document. This was added to the Parking Lot list for future consideration.
-
The WG focused on the ESD TR27.0-01. A high-level overview of the document and the history of activities was given. The committee needs support from Tier 1 supply chain organizations (electronics manufacturers).
-
Status of FTA document was presented in TR format already; OEM and Semi parts are in good shape; however additional support is needed for the Tier1 group information.
-
The committee presented a status of the FTA document; structure of new word document with focus on main problems was discussed and confirmed. Case studies for OEM group and Semi group were discussed. The working group is working on a new technical report.
