The Volunteer Spotlight during September and October focuses on Ted Dangelmayer, president of Dangelmayer Associates, LLC. Ted is an original member of ESDA. As a result of receiving the “Outstanding Contributor” award, he is a lifetime member of the ESD Association. He has attended all of the ESDA Symposia with the exception of 1983 due to the birth of his younger son. He is currently President of the Northeast Chapter of the ESD Association and a member of the national ESD Association’s Standards Committee, Education Committee, Corporate Sponsorship Program Chairman, and Human Resource Committee.
Educational and professional background
Ted retired from Lucent Technologies in 2001 as a Consulting Member of the Technical Staff. He then became Director of Technology and Program Design for the Professional Services Division of Ion Systems in Berkeley, California.

Personal information, interests, and hobbies
Ted started playing tennis when he was three and still plays two or three times a week during the summer. For relaxation, he enjoys sailing and boating in Ipswich Bay off of Cape Ann in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Golf competes for his time in the summer. In recent years, he has become an avid platform tennis player. This is an outdoor winter sport played in the coldest weather New England has to offer.
Ted’s wife of 29 years, Lindy, is a registered nurse who does volunteer work for the Red Cross, works for a Chiropractor, and is a flower essence practitioner. His two sons, Peter and Drew, are both in their junior year of college and a pleasure to know.
