Threshold Nov-Dec2019

Volume 35, No. 6 November/December 2019 THRESHOLD TM Another successful symposium has concluded. There were over 400 people at the event from across the world. This symposium was the 41st annual EOS/ESD Symposium, and there was something for everyone! This year’s symposium featured tutorials, technical sessions, hands-on manufacturing demonstrations, short intense tutorials offered in the manufacturing track, a return of the IoT workshop, and so much more. This year also introduced many new contests for attendees managed through the mobile app and sponsored by the exhibitors. A few lucky attendees left the conference winning prizes with a $600 dollar value! A lot of new faces attended the symposium this year, below are some of their testimonies of being first time attendees. We look forward to seeing you at the next EOS/ESD Symposium at the Peppermill Resort and Casino in Reno, NV USA. “Most of the papers (41) were from industry. This was interesting, because it shows those problems are actually being dealt with now. All the attendees got to vote for the best paper awards.” Rolla, MO “My first symposium participation was so nice! It was a well-organized event, staff was very helpful and presenters were willing to answer all the questions. It is a very good opportunity for a deeper understanding of ESD control. Can’t wait to come back next year!” Szekesfehervar, Hungary “The Symposium was a great learning experience, the in- structors knew their field of expertise and not only shared some great stories of learning and discovery but root cause analysis as well. The Association staff were true profession- als and put together a well-organized symposium.” Albuquerque, New Mexico. “As I have been active for a long time in international standardization it was nice to meet all people I up until now only had known by name.” Sweden
