July/August 2008 12 Education For the 2nd annual IEW, we traveled to Europe, May 12-15 to the Domaine de Pinsolle, Port D’Albret, France This year’s International Electrostatic Workshop was a wonderful success drawing nearly 80 attendees from all over the world. There were 16 countries represented, including: US, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Korea, Switzerland, Netherlands, Taiwan, Austria, England, Finland, 2nd Annual International Electrostatic Workshop “très Bon” influence our future ESD device testing standards development. Ok, so in its hay-day Stanford alumni include Jim Plunkett, John Elway, John Brodie, and drop-outs like John McEnroe, and Tiger Woods, … and semiconductor engineers like Nobel winner William Shockley, and Nobel Laureate Felix Bloch…but today ESD engineers may be its next superstars. Ok, it is one or the other --Football or Physics ? UF-TLP Fastest ESD pulse in the West .. 40 ps… faster than a Stanford PAC- 10 running back…. My bet is on UF- TLP. With Stanford’s 8,201 post graduate students, and 6,689 undergraduates – I also bet on the students of Stanford University.
