Yiqun Cao received the M.Sc. degree (Diplomingenieur) in electrical and electronic engineering from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) in Aachen, Germany, in 2007. In that same year, he joined the Smart Power Technology Research and Development group at Infineon Technologies in Munich, Germany. Yiqun continues to work on his Ph.D. thesis about high-voltage on-chip ESD protection in close collaboration with the Institute for On-Board Systems Laboratory at the Technische Universität Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany.

Since 2011, Yiqun has been with the Automotive Power Technology Research and Development Group at Infineon Technologies He has been responsible for the development of low-voltage and high-voltage ESD devices and concepts, as well as the component- and system-level ESD on-chip protections in advanced smart power technologies. His research interests are in the field of advanced ESD modeling, advanced ESD measurement techniques and ESD trouble-shooting.

Cao1Yiqun was a member of the Technical Program Committee for the EOS/ESD Symposium in 2012 and 2013. He was a recipient of the EOS/ESD Symposium Best Paper Award in 2010, and the Best Paper and the Best Student Paper Awards in 2011. He also holds several patents in the field of on-chip ESD protection.

Yiqun lives in Munich with his wife, Ye and his lovely baby boy, Felix. He enjoys cooking, listening to music, hiking in the Alps and also visiting the nearby city.

"Being a volunteer with the ESDA gives me the chance to get in touch with many ESD experts from all over the industry. The exchange of ideas and knowledge keeps me up-to-date on the current ESD challenges, problems, and solutions. I look forward to contributing further to ESDA as an active volunteer in the future."
