July/ August’s Volunteer Spotlight is Sarah Smith who is currently a member of the Workstations working group. Sarah is active in Hr. Committee, STD Comm., and is the AV Chair for Symposium. She has also been an active member of the Symposium Arrangements Committee.
Educational
and professional background
Sarah received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Michigan Technological University. She is also a Narte Certified ESD Technician and an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor.
She began her career as a member of the ESD Midwest Chapter and attended her first ESD Symposium in Charlotte, NC. She went on to the ESDA meeting series the following February. Sarah was involved in the development of ANSI/ESD S20.20 certification as a Corporate ESD Engineer for Plexus Corporation. She helped improve the process and implement ESD programs at each of their global manufacturing sites.

and hobbies
Sarah is currently living at a Lake House in Oshkosh, WI. For recreation Sarah enjoys stand up jet skiing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, and swimming in the lake in the summers. Her winter hobbies include playing hockey, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. In the spring and fall, Sarah has varied interests including shooting trap, golfing, hiking, backpacking, camping and making stained glass windows.
